How to connect pex Compression fittings

Step

Step 1: Prepare the piping
Before connecting the PEX compression fittings, it is essential to prepare the piping. Cut the PEX tubing to the required length, ensuring that the cut is clean and has no burrs. Use a pipe cutter or a sharp utility knife to cut the tubing, and then use a deburring tool or sandpaper to smooth the edges.

Step 2: Insert the PEX compression fitting
The copper circlip and copper nut are placed on the seamless steel pipe. Pay attention to the nut and direction, don’t put it upside down.Apply lubricating oil to the thread and sleeve of the pre-installed fitting body, insert the pipe into the fitting body, and tighten the nut by hand (pipe must be inserted to the end)

Step3:Connect PEX Compression Fitting Tighten the nut until the jacket catches the pipe

Step 4: Check the connections
After connecting the PEX compression fittings, it is essential to check for leaks. Turn on the water supply and inspect the connections for any leaks. If you find any leaks, shut off the water supply and recheck the connections to ensure that the fittings are fully inserted into the tubing.

Things to Pay Attention to When Connecting PEX compression Fittings

When installing the PEX compression fitting, the inside and outside of the nozzle joint connected with the compression fitting should be processed clean. The nozzle must be polished and smooth, and the surface should not have burr and concave and convex surface. And the nozzle and the sleeve joint embedding position should not be bending, otherwise it will lead to the joint of the sleeve joint and the steel pipe leakage phenomenon. The steel pipe at both ends of the connected sleeve joint is best made of uniform material, which can effectively prevent leakage.
